Rock 'n Roll Fantasy Camp brings you Metal Mania, Presidents Day 2013 with Alice Cooper (American Singer and Song Writer), legendary drummer Mike Portnoy (Formerly of Dream Theater, now with Adrenaline Mob and Flying Colors, among others) and Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment, Dregs Jordan)
Remember 'Welcome to My Nightmare'? Well, now it's time for 'Welcome to your Fantasy' as the king of shock-rock-n-roll Alice Cooper descends upon the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp. No More Mr. Nice Guy? Not really, because he's here to make your rock and roll dreams come true. If you live for metal, glitter, glam and classic rock, then school is definitely IN this Presidents Day. You remember the anthems, the makeup and the boa constrictor. This was Metal Theater before Kiss, Bowie or any other number of artists that followed. This is the original. This is the Coop - live and in person to hang with you, jam with you and treat you all like his Billion Dollar Babies.
If that weren't enough, campers will get to witness first hand one of music's most accomplished and award winning, self-taught drummers Mike Portnoy, whose progressive metal sound is uniquely influenced by The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Queen, Iron Maiden and The Who. Portnoy's former band Dream Theater is best known for the technical proficiency of its instrumentalists, so it is no surprise that campers will be wowed by his metal, pop and straight rock style drumming but also inspired by his skills on the Bass, Keys and Guitar.
So grab your guitars, guillotines, drumsticks and electric chairs for a musicians dream that can only be made real in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino February 14th- 18th, 2012. You will meet and work with these amazing headliners as well as perform live on stage with over 15 legendary rock stars. This experience is so amazing, you'll need your professionally recorded song and DVD of your live performance to prove you came, conquered and actually lived the dream. GENERAL INFORMATION:
Registration:
At registration, you will get an itinerary, swag bag, camper all access pass, and have the opportunity to check out a loaner guitar or bass guitar for the duration of camp. Registration will take place at the hotel on Tuesday,
March 5th between 3pm
and 6pm.
Hotel:
Camp price includes hotel accommodations at MGM Grand Hotel for 6 days and 5 nights. (daily breakfast & lunch are also included) Room upgrades are available. Incidentials are not covered.
Master´s Program:
Campers interested in being considered for the master's program will audition on Tuesday, March 5th between 4pm and 6pm. The bands will be announced at the opening night party! The master's program is no different than our regular fantasy camp program. If you are placed in a master's program band, it is simply guarantee that you will be placed with other experienced musicians.
Dining:
The camp price includes a breakfast buffet every morning. We will also provide daily lunches and an opening night dinner with cocktails. In addition, coffee, tea, water, soda and snacks will be provided throughout the day to keep you energized!
Instruments & Gear:
We suggest you bring your own guitar, however you will have the opportunity to borrow a guitar or bass from us to use during camp. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee any particular make or model. All other instruments will be provided, including amps, drum kits, keyboards and PA's. All gear provided is excellent quality from leading manufacturers.
